So you can see they came in with some rudimentary knowledge about a very complex concept. Children absolutely love to think about "big" things - pondering the enormity of the universe, or wondering life millions of years ago.
Anyway, the two books I found are wonderful - a picture book called Infinity and Me, by Kate Hosford, and a short chapter book called The Cat in Numberland, by Ivar Ekeland. The latter, in particular, is a great choice to take children to a deeper exploration of infinity.
