The next MRF Open House is Saturday, December 14th 2013, and the theme is "Recycled Gift Wraps" -- we will be making gift boxes out of recycled materials! November Super Hero Project - Materials Recovery Facility Tour and Paper Making
Yesterday we went to MRF (Materials Recovery Facility) with Elaine's class. This is a great place that teaches a lot about why and how to recycle/reuse. Children were divided up into three groups and rotated through activities - taking a tour of the facility, playing games about recycling materials into other materials, and making paper. Big thanks to our two classroom chaperones, Vittorio and Stacyee, and to our awesome guide at the plant, MacKenzie.
