So far, the tribes have met and welcomed each other (by completing a big puzzle in which their name was mixed with their fellow members), and decided on a name for their tribe. We are currently working on tribal banners for each tribe - again, with the end result being a combination of ideas and compromises (and, I admit, a few tears and recriminations - all part of the process).
One of the most important aspects of a tribe activity is getting together afterwards to discuss what went well, what didn't go so well, and what could be done better next time. Feelings (both good and bad) are honestly acknowledged.

You should be very proud of your children. Compromise and listening to others is not an easy task no matter what your age. I’ve heard some inspiring conversations and am excited about setting some interesting challenges. Be sure to ask your child about Tribes.

As the proud parent of a bloody eyeball, I really love the work you're doing, Susan, on mutual respect and compromise. Thank you!
